We are recruiting for three positions on the FSA Executive Commitee!

Events Officer:

This person will be responsible for developing a plan for events for each academic year, organising events and co-ordinating with others on the board who are organising events connected to the FSA. In 2023, the FSA is planning a series of seminars rather than a large conference, the events officer would help to coordinate calls for papers, logistics and publicity of these events. This role would suit someone with an interest in developing networks and event organisation.

Mentoring Scheme Officer:

This person will be responsible for managing and running the mentoring scheme. The scheme is for FSA members who have passed their PhD’s and are early career scholars, they are paired with a more experienced mentor who can pass on advice or share experiences. The officer promotes the scheme, sources mentors, collates applications, pairs mentors and mentees, deals with issues throughout the year and collates feedback. This role would suit someone with academic experience who is interested in supporting junior colleagues.

Activism Officer:

This individual will be responsible for engaging those outside of academia with issues of feminism and gender equality. This could take the form of organising events, connecting academics and activists/organisations or reporting on activist trends. This role would suit someone inside or outside academia who is interested in merging academic work and practice. There is scope to expand this role in new directions.
